We recently spoke with Woody Deitrich, 64, of Seattle, WA at this year’s Huntsman World Senior Games about how he became a masters athlete.
Woody’s uplifting story of how he began training and competing in track at the age of 54, following the encouragement of a friend, had us motivated and inspired. He now competes regularly in power walking, long jump, high jump, 50 meter dash, and standing long jump events.
Watch the video to get insight into how welcoming and fun the masters athlete community is, how it will help you stick to your training program, and why you should consider making the move from gym training to more of an outdoor workout regime.
